2019 Christmas Charity Event

LIEMG & Tea-Cup Zone Charity Gift Giving Event

The chosen beneficiary for this year's charity event is "Tahanang Mapagpala ng Immaculada Concepcion Inc. located at Kilometer 43, Malanggam St., Builhan, Malolos, Bulacan. Tahanang Mapagpala ng Immaculada Concepcion Foundation, Inc. is a shelter institution that takes care of the needs of the elderly people.

Founded on 19 March 2001, Tahanang Mapagpala ng Immaculada Concepcion is a center-based institution of the Diocese of Malolos that aims to provide shelter and holistic care to neglected, poor, homeless, disadvantaged and sick elderly women. The center provides daily necessities of the lolas from food and medicines to spiritual and moral needs. It also aims to prepare the lolas for the dawn of their lives. It also facilitates recreational activities and psychological therapies to help the lolas be sound and strong. Currently, the Tahanan has 25 lolas being served by 5 nuns from the Sisters of the Divine Shepherd and 10 personnel/nurse. It is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and is recognized and approved by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The event was attended by LIEMG staff, ELITE teachers and students. The program began with a trivia game to test the knowledge of "lolas" regarding general information about the Philippines. They were also joined by chosen LIEMG staff and to our amazement all their answers to our questions were correct.

LIEMG staff and ELITE teachers gave entertainment to our "lolas" by singing Christmas carols. ELITE students participated in a game which were supposed to be played by the "lolas" but since not many of them can stand for a long time. They became our judges in the game.

Tahanang Mapagpala presented certificates of appreciation to LIEMG and Tea-Cup Zone and were gladly received by Ms. Chris Santos, LIEMG Admin Head & Mr. Jacky Lin, Tea-Cup Zone President.

Lastly, the lolas enjoyed their sumptuous meal while the staff had a good time chatting with them. Of course, we needed to snap photos of these adorable lolas.
